Popis: The aim of the thesis is to analyze the importance, influence and role of developing countries in the WTO with focus on the General Agreement on Trade in Services and on the example of the developing country India evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of the country's participation in GATS. The first part of the thesis is devoted to developing countries, the world trade in services and the services liberalization, both at general level and under GATS. The second part deals with the status of developing countries in GATS, their role, importance and participation in the current round of negotiations. The last part analyzes India's position in the WTO and GATS and deals with the education sector. Finally, the advantages and disadvantages of the country's participation in GATS are assessed.
