Popis: This diploma thesis explores the connection of the contemporary media with the modern trend of the present - globalisation. The first chapter builds on the key concept of term globalised media and compares the extent to which current mass media differ from traditional media before the start of the globalisation. The second chapter discusses the concept of mass media, examines the typology of the media and its basic functions, an important part of the chapter is the analysis of media impact on various components of our society. In the third chapter, the author compares the media environment in the United States of America, France and Turkey, and lists events that have affected the current situation of the media from a media perspective. The last part of thesis deals with a case study examining newspaper articles and television broadcasts on three selected terrorist attacks, namely the assault on Charlie Hebdo, the suicide bomber in Turkey and the shooting in Orlando. By comparing media plots, the author draws on the main hypotheses and research questions of the thesis.
