The transformation of sports sections of Czech daily newspapers between 2001 and 2015 The dissertation deals with the transformation of sports sectionsin the daily newspapers, in their traditional paper form, between 2001 and 2015. In this period, Hospodářské noviny, Lidové noviny, Mladá fronta Dnes and Právo were faced with the almost permanent decrease of the circulation, the financial crisis in 2008 made their situation even more difficult. At the same time, sports journalism have changed due to the expansion of the TV stations and mainly of the Internet; the news became more available. The newspapers considered some innovation and they decided to change the number of pages devoted to sport or to replace the match and race reports by the reactions of players or more often by stories with larger context. |
