This thesis "Social factors of desistence and effective reintegration after custodial sentence" deals with factors emanating from society and arising in the social environment of an individual who has committed criminal activity in the past and has currently renounced this life path and thus manages to avoid (further) recidivism. The aim of the thesis is to find out which of the social factors and to what extent they influenced the selected desisters. In the theoretical part of the diploma thesis, basic concepts and terms that are closely related to the given issue will be defined. Factors influencing desistance and successful reintegration after returning from prison sentence will be described. The empirical part will be based on the case studies of people who have passed the sentence and are currently more than 5 years without recidivism, some of them own companies and have completed their degrees and are "successful" in their free lives. Interviews with people close to them will also be presented. Those will reveal something about the criminal style of thinking of these persons. |
