This bachelor's thesis focuses on short detective stories especially in the work of the great Czech writer Karel Čapek, named Tales from one and the other pocket. The introduction is related to the history and development of the genre of crime stories in the Czech literature. The aim of this bachelor's thesis is analyzed the selected detective stories, following their thematic and compositional and linguistic point of view.
