War, crises or natural disasters are an integral part of everyday news coverage. Contemporary Czech war/crisis journalism in local conditions presents this journalistic genre directly through the eyes of war reporters. The practical part of this presents the specifics of war and crisis reporting through interviews with Tomáš Etzler, Jarmila Štuková, Antonín Kratochvíl and Jakub Szántó. It introduces the main requirements for war journalists and focuses on some ethical dilemmas associated with this profession. The theoretical part of this work can be defined as a factual supplement to the pactical part and includes a brief history of the profession, ethical aspects, including instructions and codes used by war journalists. The aim is to mediate and introduce the readers and viewers to the work of people who voluntarily move unarmed on the front lines. |
