The bachelor thesis Martina Kopová The thesis supervisor: doc. PharmDr. Petr Nachtigal, Ph.D. Background: The bachelor thesis consists of two parts. My aim in the theoretical part has been to carry out the exploration of existing facts relating to AIDS problem. In the experimental part I have carried out the research concerning the awareness of young people at the age of 15-16 relating to HIV infection, respectively AIDS disease. The research has been done in the form of anonymous questionnaires, containing 18 questions. I have focused the questions on students' knowledge of infection and their approach to this matter. This research has been carried out at four secondary schools in Hradec Králové. Results: Resulting from the achieved outcomes, there has been found out that the awareness of HIV/AIDS matter among 247 students at secondary schools in Hradec Králové is 60.2%. The results at the particular schools do not differ, they are almost the same. Conclusion: HIV infection and a subsequent AIDS disease have been constantly spreading.
