The bachelor's thesis deals with the issue of determining and evaluating eating habits in obese patients by using the method of semi-quantitative food frequency questionnaire (Semiquantitative Food Frequency Questionnaire, SFFQ). Aims of the bachelor thesis are to determine the potential use of the semiquantitative frequency questionnaire (SFFQ) when applied to a group of obese patients and to verify the reliability of such data by comparing with data based on the analysis of prospective meal record and RMR. Based on the evaluated data, it was found that the values of daily energy intake of patients obtained by the retrospective method (SFFQ) do not correspond to the values of energy intake recorded by the prospective method (diet) or RMR values. In case of application of the method of semi-quantitative frequency questionnaire on a sample of obese patients, it would be appropriate to verify its results by one of the other valid methods. Due to the narrow set of respondents, the results cannot be generalized to the entire population of obese patients. For thorough identification and evaluation, it would be necessary to perform a series of semi-quantitative frequency questionnaire surveys in a much larger group of patients.
