The article presented is a partial result of a doctoral research entitled “Valuing documentary heritage at the Universidad de Oriente” developed within the framework of the p4 Vlir international cooperation project “Safeguarding cultural heritage. Tools and practices for its integrated management in Santiago de Cuba and the eastern region of the country”, which is part of the Flemish Interuniversity Program for International Cooperation with the Universidad de Oriente (VLIR-UOS). The objective of this article is to provide an exploratory approach to the state and conservation of the documentary heritage of the Universidad de Oriente, to contribute to its recognition and management. Scientific research methods such as: historical-logical, analysis-synthesis, inductive-deductive and documentary analysis were used. The derived conclusions indicate that it is urgent to address the management of documentary heritage at the Universidad de Oriente to value the institutional historical memory. |
