EXTENSION MUDULE FOR AVNET SPARTAN 3A PROTO BOARD

Popis: V diplomskem delu obravnavamo razširitveni modul za razvojno ploščo Avnet Spartan 3A za analogno/digitalno (A/D) in digitalno/analogno (D/A) pretvorbo. Predstavimo FPGA programirljiva logična vezja, opišemo razvojno ploščo Avnet Spartan 3A ter podamo osnove za načrtovanje VF tiskanih vezij. V nadaljevanju s pomočjo načrtovalskega orodja Altium Designer Summer 09 izdelamo tiskano vezje razširitvenega modula. Vmesnik SPI, ki skrbi za komunikacijo vezja FPGA z razširitvenim modulom, smo opisali z jezikom VHDL ter pravilnost delovanja preverili s simulacijo. Delovanje celotnega vezja smo preverili z meritvijo ter komentirali dobljene rezultate. In the thesis we discuss the extension module for Avnet Spartan 3A development board for analog-to-digital (A/D) and digital-to-analog (D/A) conversion. We introduce FPGA programmable logic devices we describe Avnet Spartan 3A development board and give basis for designing RF printed circuit boards. Using Altium Designer Summer 09 design tool we make a printed circuit board of extension module. The SPI controller that is responsible for communication between the FPGA circuit board and the extension module was described with VHDL language and the accuracy of operation was verified by a simulation. The operation of the entire circuit board was checked by a measurement and comments were made on the results obtained.
