Slovenske narodne manjšine živijo po svetu in v sosednjih državah Italiji, Avstriji, na Madžarskem in na Hrvaškem. Njihov položaj je ljudem v matični domovini manj znan in o njenih pripadnikih vedo relativno malo. V diplomski nalogi bomo predstavili slovensko skupnost v hrvaškem okolju, temeljne zgodovinske, zemljepisne, družbene, sociološke, politične, kulturne in jezikovne okoliščine, v katerih živi, deluje in se ohranja že vrsto let. The Slovenian national minority is scattered around the world as well as in the neighbouring countries of Italy, Austria, Hungary and Croatia. The latter is the least known in the home country, for the Slovenians know relatively little about it. In my thesis I will represent the Slovenian community in the Croatian environment along with the basic historical, geographical, social, sociological, political, cultural and linguistic circumstances in which the Slovenian community lives, works and perseveres for a number of years. National consciousness is being maintained by the representatives of all Slovenian associations on Croatian grounds and represents the foundation of the Slovenianhood in Croatia and the possibility of its existence in the Croatian majority. The increasing number of the Slovenian societies in Croatia implies a good organization and strong connection between Slovenians. The number of these societies speaks in favour of a strong Slovenian consciousness however, the modern times express a decrease in the interest of younger generations in Slovenianhood and tradition. The non-urban communities have a more expressed intensity for keeping the national awareness, whereas the Slovenians in urban areas like Zagreb do not perceive their Slovenianhood as vital. The interest in learning Slovenian and continuing the education in Slovenia is higher in Istria and surrounding areas than in Zagreb for example. |
