Because in the past man changed water ecosystems more than enough due to his needs, these interventions have tipped their natural balance. In the valley Spodnja Savinjska dolina also most of the watercourses are antropogenically changed. Their riverbed is canalized and regulated which is evident in the reduction of self-cleaning abilities of watercourses and biotic variations as well as the loss of primal biotic appearance of degraded area. The re-establishment of watercourses' natural balance will be necessary since water is a strategic resource and shall be preserved as such. As an example of canalized watercourses the brook Trnavica is presented in the diploma thesis. By means of fieldwork it was established that the brook is regulated and polluted due to a point source pollution (sewage) and nonpoint source pollution (agriculture) and in addition to that the water is being exploited for irrigation of agricultural land which results in the reduction of summer low flows. On the basis of fieldwork and measurements of chemical characteristics of water in the brook Trnavica it was established that its chemical state is poor. As one of the possibilities for the restoration of the brook Trnavica the diploma thesis presents revitalizations, since they make it possible - through agitation of riverbed – to enrich water with oxygen and flora and fauna which increases biological activity and retains water where needed and consequently reduce the danger of flooding. By means of revitalizations a good ecological state of the brook Trnavica can be achieved. The ecoremediation techniques are one of the possibilities for water ecosystems adjustment to climate changes. In such a manner the brook Trnavica would revive and the landscape around it would get additional meaning.
