Popis: Predšolski otroci so najbolj občutljiv del naše družbe. Zaradi današnjega sistema in tempa življenja veliko otrok svoj čas in večino otroštva preživi v vrtcu. Preschool children are the most delicate part of our society. Because of our culture and system nowadays most of them spend most of their childhood in preschool. Daycare staff is therefore obliged to offer the children the invironment, where they feel safe and loved. The important factor is a sensible child care teacher, who encourages a child and monitors his/her progress, and at the same time grows awareness of child's right to live with people, who offer a safe environment. Grown-ups and especially all the parents should hold responsibility and duty to guarantee physical and emotional safety for a child. If failed to do so, the others (child care teachers, technical staff etc.) should enable a violence-free environment for a child. The empirical part of the thesis holds the evidence on the sensitivity of a child care teacher when it comes to violence. The research included child care teachers and assistants from all over Slovenia. The goal was to discover, how the consecuences of violence are recognised. We also tried to acknowledge the role of teachers and other staff, how well are they informed and how they react when it comes to violence. The data was collected through survey and processed with SPSS. The results show the child care teachers to have a lot of stability and competence at their work. Years of work experience are one of the most important factors in the matter.
