V času načrtovanja smo dobili priložnost del projekta izvesti v tujini, in sicer v angleškem mestu Cambridge. Zaradi časovne stiske smo uspeli izvesti le del projekta, katerega smo podrobneje predstavili v praktičnem delu. Načrtovali in pripravili smo dva samostojna projekta. V zaključku so opisana opažanja, izpolnjeni cilji in spoznanja o projektu. Science Days in Kindergarten – Dinosaurs and their Era is a practical diploma thesis within which children were presented with a science project and the its main purpose was to present the development of life on Earth through dinosaur contents. The diploma thesis consists of two parts: theoretical and practical. In the theoretical part, the following contents are presented: geological eras, development of life (evolution), era of the dinosaurs and their extinction, and lastly, the importance of preschool science activities. An important emphasis is dedicated to dinosaurs – they were a good motivation throughout the whole project. In the outline scheme, we roughly presented the idea of the project we expected to implement in approximately ten days. We had the opportunity to implement a part of the project in Cambridge, England. Due to the lack of time, we managed to implement only a part of the project which is thoroughly presented in the practical part of the thesis. We planned and implemented two mutually independent projects. The first one – Getting to know dinosaurs - was implemented in cooperation with the University of Cambridge, namely for children of doctoral students. The project was based on the presentation of the world of dinosaurs and served as an introduction of the dinosaur topic, with which we motivated the children for a further research and interest of that field. The second project – Extinction - was implemented in the first grade of Kings School private school. With the second project we closed their dinosaurs theme, which they had been working on for the last three months. The “Extinction” project was implemented for children ages four to five, while the “Getting to know dinosaurs” project was adapted for children of different ages. The two projects were implemented independently from each other, with different groups and age limitations. In conclusion chapter, we described our observations, the completed objectives and findings of the project.
