POLYMERIZATION OF OLIGOMERIC ACRYLATES IN EMULSIONS

Popis: V diplomskem delu je prikazana študija iskanja ustreznih pogojev za zamreženje oligomernih akrilatov v kontinuirni fazi emulzij z visokim deležem notranje faze. Pripravili smo emulzije tipa O/V z glavnim monomerom PEGMA. Izbrani akrilat smo zamreževali termično in s fotopolimerizacijo. Sestava emulzij se je razlikovala v zamreževalu in v iniciatorju. Kot zamreževali smo uporabili EGDMA in MBAA. Iniciator smo izbrali glede na način polimerizacije. Pri termičnem zamreževanju emulzij smo uporabili KPS in APS, pri fotopolimerizaciji pa smo uporabili iniciator I819. Preučevali smo vpliv zamreževala na emulzije in fizikalne lastnosti polimeriziranih monolitov. Preverili smo sposobnost omočenja monolitov. Naš cilj je bil pripraviti porozen material. Uspešnost smo preverili z analizo mokrih vzorcev SEM. Kemijsko sestavo monolitov smo preverili s spektroskopijo FTIR. Zaradi možnosti uporabe v tkivnem inženirstvu smo preverili tudi razgradnjo monolita brez zamreževala, in sicer v dveh različnih medijih (0,1 M NaOH in PBS). The thesis presents a study of finding suitable conditions for cosslinking oligomer acrylate in the continuous phase of emulsion with a high proportion of internal phase. We prepared an O/W type of emulsion with the main monomer PEGMA. Selected acrylate was crosslinked thermally and with photopolymerization. The compositions of emulsions differed in crosslinker and initiator. The crosslinkers used were EGDMA and MBAA. Initiators were selected according to the method of polymerization. We used KPS and APS initiators when crosslinking our emulsions thermally, and initiator I819 when crosslinking with photopolymerization. We studied the effect of crosslinkers on the emulsions and physical properties of the polimerized monoliths. We verified the ability of wetting our monoliths. Our goal was to prepare a porous material. Wet samples were anaylzed with SEM analysis. Chemical structure of monoliths was analyzed with FTIR spectroscopy. Due to potential use of this material in tissue engineering we also analyzed its degradation in two different media (0.1 M NaOH and PBS).
