Fronteiras Criativas entre Designer, Artista e Artesã é o título da dissertação e do estudo realizado no âmbito do Mestrado em Design Management do IADE-Universidade Europeia, Lisboa, Portugal. Este estudo reflete sobre a renovação a que o saber manual e os processos de manufactura artesanal têm sido sujeitos em Portugal, mais especificamente, mas também no mundo ocidental em geral desde o início do século XXI. Existem várias técnicas artesanais, antes vistas como processos de fabrico comuns e até há bem pouco tempo consideradas obsoletas, que estão a marcar presença em Feiras de Arte e de Design, em Galerias e Oficinas. Designers, artistas e artesãos atuais estão a cruzar linhas industriais com técnicas manuais. Este trabalho de reflexão tem por objetivo investigar e explorar algumas das fronteiras criativas entre os processos criativos, as obras e as tradições de designers, artistas e artesãs em Portugal. Para isso seguiu-se uma metodologia de apresentação e análise teórica que culminou no exame de três estudos caso, através dos quais se comparam conceitos, legados e objetos de várias áreas como objetos da cerâmica, com técnicas de impressão e de algumas outras artes plásticas. Observou-se também a execução de cada um dos ofícios para refletir sobre o entrelaçamento dos seus conceitos, diferenças e complementaridades. Através desta reflexão, compreender-se-á como o modelo modernista da unificação das artes poderá estar a concretizar-se em pleno século XXI em Portugal e como, na contemporaneidade, a tecnologia digital está a tornar-se parte vital da sociedade ocidental. Creative Borders between Designer, Artist and Craftswoman is the title of the dissertation and study carried out within the scope of the Master's in Design Management at IADE-European University, Lisbon, Portugal. This study reflects on the renewal to which manual knowledge and artisanal manufacturing processes have been subjected in Portugal, more specifically, but also in the Western world in general since the beginning of the 21st century. There are several artisanal techniques, previously seen as common manufacturing processes and until recently considered obsolete, which are being present in Art and Design Fairs, in Galleries and Workshops. Today's designers, artists and artisans are crossing industrial lines with manual techniques. This reflection work aims to investigate and explore some of the creative boundaries between the creative processes, works and traditions of designers, artists and artisans in Portugal. For this, a methodology of presentation and theoretical analysis was followed, which culminated in the examination of three case studies, through which concepts, legacies and objects from various areas such as ceramic objects, with printing techniques and some other plastic arts are compared. The execution of each of the crafts was also observed to reflect on the intertwining of their concepts, differences and complementarities. Through this reflection, it will be understood how the modernist model of the unification of the arts could be taking place in the 21st century in Portugal and how, in contemporary times, digital technology is becoming a vital part of western society. |
