Popis: This paper reports the results of new derivations of acoustical criteria from recently published classroom acoustics research studies and compares the new results with existing standards. The results of speech tests in classrooms were used to derive maximum acceptable values of ambient noise in classrooms for children of various ages. Similarly, optimum ranges of reverberation times were determined to maximize signal-to-noise ratios without excessive reverberation.
