Popis: Procesas stiprinant piliečių dalyvavimą Lenkijos vietos valdžioje. Local governments in Poland more and more often involve citizens in the process of shaping local policy. Apart from local government elections or the local referendum, other instruments of participation have appeared. First of all, the role of social consultations has been considerably increased and the scope of cooperation between local government administration and NGOs has been extended. In her article, the author outlined the ongoing legal changes regarding the enhancement of citizens’ participation. It was also important to show how various forms of participation function in practice. The aim of the article was, therefore, not only to present the process of enhancing citizens’ involvement in local affairs but also to answer the question of whether citizens are willing to get involved in this process.
