Evidence-based practices have not been thoroughly implemented in dengue vector surveillance. This study characterises the properties of surveillance methods for dengue vectors in Australia and Malaysia, with an emphasis on improving the strategies employed in Cairns, north Queensland, Australia. Qualitative and quantitative approaches were used to demonstrate how vector surveillance methods can be characterised and optimized for evidence-based decision-making processes. |
