Popis: Methanol is a bulk chemical used as basis for many important downstream products such as formaldehyde, acetic acid and plastics. Furthermore it can be directly used as fuel. We have prepared Pd2Ga/SiO2 catalyst by impregnation of nitrates followedby calcination and reduction under H2 atmosphere. The catalytic tests showed that at ambient pressure, the intrinsic activity of the Pd2Ga/SiO2 is higher than that of the conventional Cu/ZnO/Al2O3, while the production of the undesired CO is lower. XAS was employed to investigate the formation and local structure of Pd2Ga, the results showed that the nitrates are converted to highly dispersed and disordered oxide phases which are alloyed under heating in H2/Ar atmosphere giving rise to Pd2Ga nanoparticles.
