Using semantic information when interacting in a virtual environment is still not a commonly used practice. In the rare cases where it is applied with success, the implementation however is mostly in an ad-hoc manner, incorporating the semantic information in the programming code so that it can be used in the interaction. In this paper, we discuss a possible approach on how the relationships between concepts (such as interpositions of objects) can be applied in a diagram describing the user interaction in an abstract way, with a minimal of coding effort and a maximum of reuse. Therefore, we use NiMMiT as a starting point. From this attempt we discuss the opportunities and the encountered problems of our approach in order to generalise the use of semantic information. ispartof: pages:65-69 ispartof: Proceedings of Software Engineering and architectures for Realtime Interactive Systems pages:65-69 ispartof: Software Engineering and architectures for Realtime Interactive Systems location:Renu, USA date:9 Mar - 9 Mar 2008 status: published |
