Rezultati terenskih pregleda na području podvelebitskog Primorja i neposrednog zaleđa

Popis: U sklopu “Programa kulturnog razvitka 2015. g.” Ministarstva kulture, Konzervatorski odjel u Gospiću i Institut za arhe¬ologiju pokrenuli su projekt arheološke topografije Ličko-senjske županije. Glavni cilj projekta jest unaprijediti spoznaje o arheološkoj baštini Ličko-senjske županije, a 2015. g. pristupilo se sjevernom podvelebitskom području. U tu su svrhu ream-bulirani lokaliteti i područja poznata iz literature ili o čijem su postojanju izvijestili kolege i kazivači. Ukupno je tijekom prve kampanje terenskih pregleda podvelebitskog primorja između Krivog puta i Starigrada senjskog, te na području Krasnog Polja i Vratnika, zabilježeno 10 lokaliteta i 8 pozicija.
The first field survey season carried out in October 2015 by the Institute of Archaeology in collaboration with the Conservation Department in Gospić in the territory of the City of Senj and local boards of Sv. Juraj, Krivi Put, Krasno polje, Vratnik and Starigrad senjski settlement, was aimed to revise, pinpoint, document (preliminary) and georeference archaeological sites dating to all periods. Documentation methodology for the sites and positions included registration of the GPS coordinates, recording of main features of locations and finds using appropriate forms, photodocumentation and collection of representative small finds. Data collected in this way will be entered into the GIS with a relational database, which will help with further analysis. Out of 10 sites and 8 positions traced during the revision, six can be attributed to prehistory, with two Antique and Medieval sites, respectively. Most of the prehistoric sites are hillforts, most notably LOK 9 - Starigrad senjski (south slopes). LOK 10 - Vratnik is particularly interesting for the Antique period where a large quantity of pottery and glass finds from the Antique/Late Antique period was found west of St. Michael's (Sv. Mihovil) church.
