Popis: Describes the types, causes and impact of gender-based occupational segregation and examines current levels in 15 countries. Investigates how this segregation has changed during the 1990s in terms of female participation in the labour force, index of dissimilarity, gender-dominated occupations, the gender composition of new occupations and the largest female and male dominated occupations. Discusses policies for reducing segregation and describes general types of measures to help increase equality of opportunity in employment.
