The aim of this study is to investigate the main determinants of the participation decision of labor force in Turkey. The variables that affect labor force participation are estimated by logistic regression analysis using data from the 2008 Household Budget Survey for both rural-urban and female-male divisions. The results indicate that the most influential factors are annual disposable income, education, age, size of household and marital status. In Turkey, rural-urban and female-male divisions annual disposable income negatively affects decision to participate in labor force. Higher education level and size of household increase the probability of participating. |
