Popis: The main objective of present paper is to explore the relationship between corruption and conflict using cross-country data. The Jackknife Repeated Replication (JRR) is applied for empirical analysis. The effect of corruption-control in terms of reducing the incidence of corruption is greater than the effect of government effectiveness for the same purpose. Thus the results of this study support the idea that strong corruption-control mechanisms should be the focus of policy makers while formulating anticorruption policies. It is not the number but effectiveness of these bodies that can help prevent increase in the incidence of corruption.
