| Popis: | Tetragonal carbon coatings (ta-C) were examined at ambient temperature concerning the friction and wear characteristics with a ball-on-disk arrangement against metallic and ceramic counter bodies. The environmental influence was analyzed by tests in air of different humidity, in vacuum and in nitrogen. In the vacuum and nitrogen the friction and wear characteristics are in most cases more unfavourable than in air, whereby in addition, the counter body modifies the behaviour. |
