Popis: Cryptosporidium (krip-toe-spor-id-ee-um) spp. is a protozoan parasite that reproduces in vertebrates. It is most commonly known as a cause of gastroenteritis in people and can cause relatively large outbreaks of human illness. In the past, agricultural sources have been implicated as a contributing factor in major outbreaks of the disease. This study was initiated in light of the scarcity of information about levels of Cryptosporidium in manure storages and tile drainage water, and in an attempt to put together information and recommendations for farmers.
