OAC Review
Popis: The Editor's Page comments on the disparity between preparing for the Christmas season and the country being at war. Agricultural articles pertain to a review of the Manitoba Agricultural College, the profitability of both farm and commercial poultry production, knowledge of the fruit industry, and the annual student livestock-judging trip. Other agricultural articles address the research conducted at the Rothamstead Experimental Station and Western Canada experimental stations. A cautionary tale illustrates the profitability of Ontario agriculture. Other articles comment on the hysteria caused by astronomical sightings and the value of historical newspapers. Published in this issue are the prize-winning short story, poems, and cartoons. This issue also includes an article chiding students that use their money on entertainment and not contributing to the war effort. While the editorial highlights the creation of the O. A. C. Officers' Training Corps. The Alumni news contains letters by alumni regarding their wartime activities and a photograph of a zeppelin over Salisbury. The Macdonald Institute column contains news regarding the Red Cross Society, Y. W. C. A., Ethel Dickinson, and alumnae news. Campus news reports on the O. A. C. athletic activities, the war effort, and the new dinning hall. While the Locals column provides campus humour.
