100GHz train of femtosecond soliton pulses generated through Raman self-scattering of a dual frequency beat signal in optical fibre

Popis: We report the generation of a 80-120 GHz train of 230-300 fs fundamental solitons at 1565 nm by an all-fibre component based source. The technique relies upon the conversion of an intense optical beat-signal into a soliton train as a result of nonlinear propagation in a fibre of steadily decreasing dispersion generated through Raman self-scattering of a dual frequency beat signal.
