The autecology and agronomy of Trifolium glomeratum, a widespread, important, annual pasture legume of southern Australia, was studied. Particular attention was paid to the interaction between ecotype physiology and environment, or domponents of the environment. The thesis reports investigations into the physiological and morpho— logical variation within Australian and European acquisitions, the distribution of the Species in southern Australia, the growth and flowering response of a range of ecotypes to different environments, the response of ecotypes to temperature, and the species' reaction to grazing. |
