Popis: The purpose of this candidate thesis is to investigate a Danish organization named Julemærkehjem, and how it facilitates a 10 week residence for children in the age of 7-14. The purpose with Julemærkehjem is to help children who have health problems. Based on a previous study that has mapped Julemærkehjemmet's understanding of health it has been highlighted how Julemærkehjemmet works with overweight and unhealthy lifestyle as two components that are interdependent. Therefore, it has been investigated how this understanding of health has an impact on a child's relationship with their own body, and how Julemærkehjemmet’s approach to health has affected the children in their everyday lives after returning home. Based on this, it has been relevant to explore what experiences with overweight and health a child has acquired on their own body from Julemærkehjemmet and how it affects the family's everyday life. The statement of the problem has been answered by conducting phenomenological qualitative interviews, and photo-elicited interviews. Furthermore, through the examination of children, there is a methodological consideration which also appears in the methodological part. Through the chosen methods and theories, it has given the resultats that the child's residence at Julemærkehjemmet has had negative consequences with it, of which the child four years later still strives to lose weight and get “healthy”. The link between unhealthy lifestyle and being overweight has been established, which affected the child's self-understanding as being overweight. The child's overweight causes bullying, restrictions on food, and the constant persecution to change one's body. The conduct of the family’s everyday life is affected by Julemærkehjemmet in a way that courses an everyday life which is conflict-filled, because of the child's complications in navigation between Julemærkehjem and home. The experience with Julemærkehjemmet is complex, but Julemærkehjem's understanding of health has been shown to have had an impact on the family's conduct of everyday life and the way the child understands herself as one who is og looks "inaccurate". Because the child today has a possible eating disorder, an evaluation of the study has been carried out, which involves the ethical aspect. This self-evaluation has led to the fact that the child will again be contacted.
