The following project has been developed in cooperation with the Roskilde Festival, in particular with their climate coordinator; Thomas Niebur who contacted the university search for inspiration and input on how to improve the environmental situation on the upcoming festival. The requirements of the festival management, their responsibilities towards their guests and their economic possibilities, has therefore played an important role in the search for the most feasible proposal. The aim of the project is therefore to serve as an inspiration for the festival management. The solution suggested consists of a combination of using wind, solar and bioenergy. Bioenergy both in the form of biodiesel and in the form of biogas. This means that we, besides the more usual energy systems investigate the potential in producing energy from both the organic wastes from the festival and the human manure from the guests. The problemformulation sound as follows: What is the potential in using biogas to reduce environmental impact on the Roskilde Festival, and what other alternative energy supply can be proposed? |
