Popis: This thesis seeks to elucidate the possibility to work with respect and recognition when working with vulnerable patients within the private physiotherapist healthcare-sector current in Denmark. Further, we strive to explore the understandings and experiences from a physiotherapeutic position/viewpoint within a theoretical framework based based on the German professor in social philosophy Axel Honneth and the Danish lector Steen Wackerhausen. This thesis exerts itself with a philosophical hermeneutical approach inspired by Hans-Georg Gadamer and complemented by critical thoughts inspired by Paul Ricoeur. The methodological approach stems from a qualitative paradigm entailing semi-structured interviews and participants observations of a physiotherapeutic intervention. In conclusion, we found that the possibility for working respectfully and with recognition with the vulnerable patients is contingent on the degree to which the the physiotherapists have been marked by tendencies of neoliberal ideology and a health understanding based on a biomedicinal paradigm.
