Popis: | International audience; This work investigates the use of the Active Flow Control (AFC) devices embedded inside a high-lift configuration wing-flap system and their modification on the flow dynamics. The flap uses a hybrid novel system with high cambering employing morphing with Zero Net Mass Flux “ZNMF” actuators to suppress or attenuate the separation occurring at 60% of the flap’s chord. This leads to an important increase of the aerodynamic efficiency, [1]. High-Fidelity numerical simulations are used to optimise different jet parameters such as the location, orientation, and velocity. The AFC will be investigated using the blowing-suction of a jet. The use of hybrid turbulence RANS/LES models as the Delayed Detached Eddy Simulation ”DDES” is important to analyse the interaction between the separation and both the wing’s and the flap’s shear-layers (figure 1), which leads to a thickening of the wake width and an increase of the drag, [2]. As a main results of the study, the jet delays and reattaches the flow leading to an important enhancement of the pressure distribution around the wing-flap system. These results have the potential to significantly increase the aerodynamic efficiency of the wing during the take-off and landing configurations. The study is extended to a Vertical Take-Off and Landing “VTOL” aircraft with wing-aileron system at a high deflection angle and revealing an enhancement of the aerodynamic efficiency, [3].
