The libraries evaluation remains a very useful issue in the academic and public libraries management. Qualitative and quantitative methods have demonstrated to be good tools for these assessments. A vast amount of scientific literature found reinforces the relevance of the subject. The main aims of this study are to carry out a literature review of the most national and international relevant studies of evaluation libraries programmes concerning quality and cost-benefit. In a time of economic crisis this analysis is particularly pertinent when the librarians are faced with serious problems with material lack and human resources. These assessments support the restructuring and optimization of services in these organizations. |
