Popis: | The effect of compressibility on boundary layer transition is studied by using a Ludwieg tube set-up. Heat transfer expts. are performed at a flat plate using thin film gauges. The expts. are done with Mach nos. ranging from 0.13 to 0.56. The dimensions of the turbulence grid are not changed. This results in a decrease of the turbulence level with increasing Mach no. No significant change of transition start or transition length as a function of the Mach no. is obsd. However, as measured sep. the turbulence level has a significant influence on both mentioned transition parameters. From this turbulence level and Mach no. have an opposite effect on boundary layer transition |
