There are various links between global health and water security in areas of water abundance and water scarcity. Examples include health risks in wetlands; the impact of extreme weather events on the provision of safe water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) and health promotion; implications of COVID-19 on water utilites; and WASH and health challenges among ethnic minority populations. This chapter shows how water and health research informs decision-making to address and solve these challenges. |
