Popis: | From a place branding perspective there is a growing struggle for balance between globalisation and territorial growth. Destination managers must strike a difficult balance: accommodate for the needs of the host society to value diversity, sustainability and locality, while remaining competitive in a global destination market. This all seems to be in contrast to standardisation. However, if the local community has something special in common, then such common characteristics might be laid down in standards: local standards. This paper aims to explore such a local level of standardisation using the case of the Italian city of Torino. |
