The purpose this paper is to make clear thedeployment process of lifelong education in Akitaprefecture after 1970 and roles of Akita lifelonglearning center in the future. Yujiro Obata, aformer governor, built the system of lifelongeducation support and he ambitiously implementedmuch policy. He settled Akita lifelong educationcenter（lifelong learning center in present）. Thiscenter is the base of lifelong education in Akitaprefecture. It provides many lifelong learningcourses for people, training courses for municipalstaffs, and information on lifelong learning. Thereis the need of support for “Koudou-bito” andcooperation with municipalities to advance lifelonglearning in Akita prefecture. |
