Popis: This papaer forms part of the Grant-in-Aid (for Challenging Exploratory Research) topic"Research on the Left-behind Children in Chinese Agricultural Villages and Educational Discrimination" (21653095). The second section gives cases of the lifestyles of left-behind children based on a field study carried out in Hunan. The third section investigates where the parents of the children introduced in the second section are and what kind working environment they are in, based on a field study in Zhejiang. This is because living in this kind of environment with their parents who work away from home forms who they are, and this is connected with their own philosophy on child education. Section 4 examines the child education philosophy from this perspective, based on a survey of migrant workers conducted in Zhejiang. The survey has only just begun, so it is by no means qualitatively or substantively complete. Therefore, this paper is considered an interim report. Through this paper, we will discover that the lives of the left-behind children and their parents who work away from home are connected to our own lives in a surprising way. In this sense, the problem of left-behind children in China is not a story far away from home.
