Stratigraphy and age of deposits in Mikazuki-ike Pond, Yusui-cho, Kagoshima Prefecture

| Popis: | Mikazuki-ike Pond is located at the south limit colony of Iris ensata (Nohanashoubu) in Koba, Yusui-cho, Aira-gun, Kagoshima Prefecture, SW Japan. Using a peat sampler, cored samples were obtained from four sites (1-1, 1-2, 1-3 and 1-4) of the now dried-up pond. In descending order, three AMS radiocarbon dates were obtained in this study - 855 ± 20 BP, 2480 ± 25 BP, and 5590 ± 30 BP, which are all consistent with the stratigraphic relationship. From these acceptable dates, it is considered that the collected cored samples have a paleoenvironment record for the last 6000 years. 鹿児島県姶良郡湧水町木場に位置するノハナショウブ(Iris ensata)の自生南限地である三日月池の堆積環境を復元するために、干上がった池の4ヶ所でコア試料を採取し、AMS放射性炭素年代を得た。今回、得られた3点の年代値は、855±20BP、2480±25BP、5590±30BPで層位関係と調和的であり、概ね妥当と判断される。これらの結果から、採取したコア試料は最近約6000年間の古環境を記録しているものと考えられる。 |
