Seventy-five patients were continuously (more than one year) administered SLA after surgery. The recurrence rate of the SLA-treatment group was 20% within one year, 34.8% within two years, 45.3% within three years, 47.5% within four years, and 54.4% within five years. This result was compared with the recurrence rate of the non-prophylactic group in the preceeding paper (Report 3). The recurrence rate was always not significantly different between the SLA group and the control group. Among the patients suffering from frequent recurrences, the effect of SLA was not apparent in this study. |
