Popis: The purpose of this research is to clarify the current state of implementation of sports-related subjects for persons with disabilities at universities with health and physical education teacher training courses in Japan, and to clarify the changes during this period by comparing with the results of a survey conducted in 2013. For this purpose, a questionnaire survey was conducted on the actual implementation of sports-related subjects for the disabled in 177 universities with health and physical education teacher training courses, and the following findings were obtained. The number of valid responses was 109 (58.3%).1) 53.2% of universities offer sports-related subjects for the disabled, a slight increase from 47.9% in the previous survey. Looking at the characteristics of universities more private universities than national and public universities, physical education, sports, and health departments more than other departments by department, and teacher training courses by year of establishment: Universities established after 2000 had a higher percentage of them than those established before that. 2) In many cases, classes related to sports for persons with disabilities were offered as electives in half a semester in the form of lectures. The participation rate is estimated to be around 60%, an increase of around 10% from the previous survey. The contents of the lectures did not change significantly from the previous survey, for example, on the history and current state of sports for the disabled, teaching methods, and disabilities. The possibility of being affected by changes in the instructor training curriculum of Japan Para-Sports Association was recognized.3) The top reason why universities that do not have sports-related subjects for the disabled do not have them is that they are not required to obtain a health and physical education teacher's license. The number of reasons given for lack of teachers who could be in charge decreased significantly from the previous survey.4) About 90% of the universities have already responded to the descriptions about teaching methods for children with disabilities and the Paralympics in the new Course of Study, or are considering responding to them.
