ANALYSIS OF RELATION BETWEEN PHYSICAL TRAITS AND VISUAL IMPRESSIONS OF THE 3D OBJECT USING MORPHABLE 3D MODEL, AND ITS APPLICATION TO IMPRESSION TRANSFORMATION

Popis: 本研究では,3次元物体の視覚印象に影響するパラメータを,印象評定結果に基づく計算によって決定する手法の可能性を探る基礎検討と,異なる手法から算出した印象変換法の提案を行った.まず,基礎検討として3次元物体の一例として自動車のボディを取り上げ,異なる車種のプラモデルの形状をレンジファインダで計測し,各形状を表現した多次元ベクトルに主成分分析を適用することで,形状の多様性を少数のパラメータで表現できる3次元モーフィングモデルを求めた.また,既存の3次元モーフィングモデルが前提とする多次元ベクトル表現に適合しない特異形状の物体を取り込むことで,3 次元モーフィングモデルが表現しうる物体の多様性の幅を拡大する手法を提案した.そして,主成分分析で抽出された各主軸上のパラメータを変化させ,それらから再合成された車体形状について,SD 法を行い,その結果をもとに因子分析を行うことによって印象に大きく寄与しそうなパラメータを選択した.そのパラメータを変化させることにより,車体形状の印象を変化させた.そして,それらの手法を発展させ,顔の3 次元形状とそこから観察者に感受される高次印象との関係をモデル化することにより,望ましい高次印象を与えるような顔を創る実験を行った.この実験は様々な顔形状が持つ高次印象をSD法,因子分析によって定量化,好ましい印象変化を生じるようにモーフィングモデルのパラメータを変化させる印象変換ベクトルの導入,印象変換ベクトル法による印象変換結果のサーストンの一対比較法による検証という手順で行った.また印象変換ベクトルの求め方として3通りの方法を提案し比較検討した.
In the study, we have conducted a basis examination for seeking possibility of an approach to determine parameters that affect visual impressions of 3D objects by a calculation based on results of impression evaluation, and made a proposal of a method for impression transformation calculated by different approach.Taking up car bodies as an example for 3D objects for the basis examination at first, we've figured out a 3D morphing model capable of representing diversity of shapes by less parameters, by measuring shapes of different types of model cars using Range Finder and by applying principal component analysis to multi-dimensional vectors that are representing each shape. In addition, we've proposed another approach to expand the range of diversity of objects that 3D morphing model can represent, by introducing objects with peculiar shapes which aren't suitable for multi-dimensional vectors which are assumptions for existing 3D morphing model. Then, performing SD method for car body shapes created by recomposition through changing parameters on each main axis which have been extracted by principal component analysis, we've selected parameters with significant possibility to contribute to impressions by conducting factor analysis based on the results. Impression of shapes of car bodies has been varied by changing these parameters. Then, developing these approaches to create a model of relationship between 3D shape of face and higher impression perceived by observers from it, we've conducted an experiment to create a face that gives desirable higher impression. The experiment was performed in such an order that higher impressions of various shapes of faces were quantified by SD method and factor analysis and then introducing impression transformation vector to vary parameters of morphing model so as to generate desirable impression change, verification based on Thurstone's Pair Comparison method was conducted about impression transformation results obtained by impression transformation vector method. Further, we've proposed three types of methods for obtainingimpression transformation vector and weighed them as well.
