Basic study related to the effect on blood vessels and surrounding skin tissue from the administration of anticancer drugs

Popis: 抗がん剤が血管外に漏出すると,重篤な皮膚傷害を引き起こす危険性が高く,看護師も漏出を防止するために,細心の注意を払いながら点滴管理を行っている.しかし,パクリタキセル(タキソール(R))に関しては,複数の施設の看護師から,「明らかに血管外漏出所見が認められないのに、発赤などの皮膚傷害を引き起こすケースがある.」との声が聞かれた.そこで本研究では,パクリタキセル投与による,血管および組織傷害について検討を行うことを目的に,実験動物(ウサギ)を使用し病態学的に観察を行った.その結果,パクリタキセルを投与した血管および周囲の皮膚組織で,生理食塩液を投与した場合に認められなかった,発赤と血管の変性を示す所見が得られた.
If an anticancer drug leaks outside a blood vessel, there is a high risk of it causing serious skin damage. In order for nurses to prevent this from happening, it is with meticulous attention that they adminster an I.V. However, nurses from several facilities have stated with regard to paclitaxel (Taxol(R)) that "there are cases in which skin damage, such as reddening, occurs, even though no leak out of the blood vessel is clearly observed." The present research was conducted in order to investigate blood vessel and tissue damage caused by the administration of paclitaxel, using laboratory animals (rabbits) for research and pathological observation. The findings indicated that reddening and degeneration of blood vessels, not observed when a physiological saline solution was administered, were observed in the blood vessels and surrounding skin tissue into which paclitaxel was administered.
