Popis: This paper reports on lateral buckling behavior of H-shaped steel beams with reinforcedconcrete slab on the top flange and subjected to uniform moment or moment gradient. It wasconfirmed experimentally and analytically that the reinforced concrete slab was very effective toincrease lateral buckling strength and deformability of steel beams. In the case of the beamwhose depth-to-width of flange ratio was about 3 and which had relatively thick web, the attainmentof full plastic moment of a cross section of steel beams could be assured under moment gradientby the bracing effect of the slab, even when the slenderness ratio about the weak axis was 600.
