An Exploratory Study of the Role Awareness of Teacher Educators in Universities : Focusing on the roles of 'teacher of teachers'and 'researcher'

Popis: 本稿では,大学に勤める教師教育者を対象に,「教師の教師」と「研究者」の役割意識の強さの違いにより,教師教育者に求められる資質能力(知識・能力・経験),研究観・指導観,教師の成長・発達観の認識にどのような違いがみられるかを検討した。分析の結果,「教師の教師」の役割意識は,大学の教師教育者に教育現場経験や実践研究経験を求め,教育実践への貢献を重視する研究観・指導観をもつなど,実践を主軸とする認識を導くことが示された。一方,「研究者」の役割意識は,教師教育者に学術研究の経験・遂行力を求め,学術的研究方法の適用を重視する研究観・指導観をもつなど,研究への志向性を現し,「教師の教師」の役割意識とは対照的なものとなった。しかし,両者の役割意識の違いによらず共通する認識や,両者間に輻輳的な相互作用関係のある可能性も示唆された。
In this study, we examined how differences in the strength of the role awareness of “teacher of teachers” and “researcher” among teacher educators in university lead to differences in their perceptions of the competencies (knowledge, abilities, and experience) required of teacher educators, their views of research and teaching, and their views of teacher's professional development. The results indicated that the role awareness of the “teacher of teachers” leads to the perception in that practice is the main focus, while the role awareness of the “researcher” reveals a consistent orientation toward research, which contrasts with the role awareness of the “teacher of teachers”. However, regardless of the differences in the role awareness, there were some common perceptions. Also, it was suggested a relationship of convergent interaction between the two types of role awareness.
