A project for creating a school health system centered on the school health room was being implemented in Cambodia. In this project, visiting teachers from Japan will conduct certain training seminars for training in Cambodia and the training seminar will be held after visiting Japan for model school health leaders. School health leaders submitted some requests to the seminar in advance the training. The purpose of the present study was to examine the effects of the seminar on “washing hands, maintaining a health room, falling children, exercises for injuries, evaluation of in-school maintenance” on the basis of the requests. The subjects included nine school health leaders, including Kandal Steung District School of Health Leaders and the administrative staff. Data were collected using a questionnaire survey before and after the seminar.Analysis methods were descriptively examined, including Wilcoxson’s signed rank test, injury allowance exercises, and ongoing in-school efforts. We found that the understanding of lectures, hand washing, and health room maintenance were generally good. However, the understanding of injury treatment with medical knowledge was difficult for teachers who did not receive medical education. In the future, support must be provided for school health education using health texts that include medical knowledge and toilet/washroom models along with follow-up and advice. |
