Popis: | Bulletin I evaluated ways of supporting students who were in the second term of their fourth year and close to graduating but were harboring doubts about becoming childcare workers after completing the prescribed official practical course in childcare worker training. I once again provided childcare support courses that were held within the university as a means for students to reconsider childcare before graduating. I examined whether it was possible for students to change their minds and resolve their doubts. In those who were able to resolve their doubts I analyzed what they had experienced and how they had changed their views. In this study, I examined which part of their experience had led the students to resolve their doubts. The results of a survey revealed that some students who had participated in the practical course were able to resolve their doubts. The interview data were analyzed by using GTA(grounded theory approach). Five categories, namely 1. Students questioning their own aptitude; 2. Deepening of empathic understanding of child development through children’s activities; 3. Change in understanding of childcare through interaction with others; 4. Practice in being allowed to have free reign to act independently; and 5. Acquisition of the ability to reflect and thus provide childcare that focused on the children’s potential, were developed, and a core category or theoretical hypothesis, namely “to confront oneself as well as to develop one's understanding of childcare,” was also developed. |
