Because Hirota's nursery rhymes were used as music materials at Seijo Elementary School, which also focused on artistic education as an experimental school for Taisho New Education, it can be said that his works were suitable for the new education (or free artistic education) at Seijo Elementary School. In addition, both the music activities of the families of Seijo Elementary School, a school with a large new middle-class population, and the musical instruments they owned indicate that playing Western music on the piano was the most common activity, pointing to a general preference for European classical music on their part. When these results are compared with Hirota's classification of family class and musical taste discussed in my previous article, they are placed in the category of “those who are well versed in Western music." In other words, the Taisho Culturalism seen commonly in Hirota's view of music and among the parents who sent their children to Seijo Elementary School crystallized
